Frequently Asked Questions

  • The first difference of the few we will list is that the general structure of business is different as detailers operate from a “Quality over Quantity” approach, whereas car washes operate from the exact opposite in a “Quantity over Quality”. Because a detailing business focuses on providing high quality work you can expect a much more thorough cleaning and even a reconditioned vehicle; whereas due to a car wash having to push out a large quantity, they often times don’t have the time to pay attention to the details, often resulting in missed spots. The next difference is the care given to your vehicle. detailers will typically treat your vehicle with precision and care to not scratch, stain or damage any part of your car. Car washes on the other hand tend to be in a hurry, and will rush around the vehicle, not to mention automatic car washes that are filled with dirt, rocks, and other abrasives in the agitating rotator that can damage your paint. Lastly is the cost to value. Car washes tend to have low cost, low value. The detail will have a higher cost and will also have a higher value.

  • A few of the benefits of having your vehicle detailed monthly, quarterly, or annually include:

    • maintained condition of paint, trims, leathers, vinyls and carpets

    • better performance from your cooling systems

    • better braking and accelerating

    • better operation of vehicle safety components

    • higher value at resale

    • Longer vehicle life

  • Automotive Paint Correction is the process of sanding (buffing) down the clear coat by using a combination of polishing compound and buffing pads- both polishes and pads come in different levels of cut/abrasives- and in serious cases, wet sanding to remove paint defects (scratches, swirls, oxidation, and marring) and to restore or enhance the depth, clarity and glossy shine to your vehicle’s paint.

  • Getting your vehicle repainted (paint job) is without a doubt an expensive cost, but in many cases your paint defects or damage can be fixed through paint correction. For defects and damage such as swirls, heavy scratching, marring, or oxidation, you can look to paint correction to give you the repair you need. But if the clear coat begins to peel and the paint damage is down to the base coat or to the metal, or in extreme cases of oxidized paint, you may have to look at repainting. This is why it’s so important to get the eyes of a professional to help guide you through the process. the two main factors in determining whether to move forward with paint correction, or a repainting is maintaining the value, and overall cost of repair. By keeping the original paint on the vehicle, it preserves its value. But once new paint has been applied to the vehicle it lowers the value of your vehicle significantly. The other large factor would be the overall cost of repair. Paint correction can range between $300 - $3,000 whereas repainting could range from $1,000 - $8,000.

Trinity Detail, LLC does not provide repainting*

  • A Ceramic Coating is a chemical mixture consisting of silicon dioxide (SiO2), also known as silica, which is the main ingredient, often combined with other oxides like titanium dioxide (TiO2) and sometimes zirconium dioxide (ZrO2)

Think of it like a liquid glasslike layer of protection!

  • There are a few reasons to have a Ceramic Coating installed; one of the best reasons is for the protection that a Ceramic coating provides to your vehicle’s paint. Once installed, a Ceramic Coating protects against

    • metal/iron fallout common in and around cities

    • bird droppings and bug guts/droppings

    • acid rain

    • high mineral content in harsh water, and salt and minerals often in the air in coastal regions

    • road salts and road grime.

Among the other reasons is the increased glass like glossy reflection as well as the increased ease of cleaning.

  • Our process of installing a Ceramic Coating involves a full scale exterior detail and clay bar treatment to fully decontaminate the paint. Once fully washed and decontaminated, we will perform either a single-step polish or a 2-step polish, depending on the needs of the vehicle. This paint correction is done to remove any defects, scratches, or swirls in the paint.

Upon completion of the paint correction, we will do a final prep for the coating using an alcohol solution to remove any residual oils from the paint.

Now we can apply our Ceramic Coating! After the Ceramic Coating is installed, we perform a final inspection of the vehicle to ensure there are no high spots, missed spots, smudges, or debris under the coating before returning it back to the owner.

Due to the level of quality and safety that we operate with, a typical Ceramic Installation will take between 9 - 12 Hours.
